Qnap Domain Group Permissions

Windows acl allows the qnap nas administrator to configure file and folder permissions for the local and domain users on the nas from windows explorer.

Assign the group full control permissions. Repeat steps 1 13 to disable inheritance and assign permission for each folder and subfolder. Log into the windows server as an administrator. 2 qnap will automaticly login as admin so logout and login with user that you have problem with his access rights 3 check if you access folders from here 4 if you still have problem to access try to check user user groups access rights.

Or am i better to make the domain group a part of a local nas group and specify that local nas group. You can manage folder permissions from microsoft windows or the web based management interface of the nas without complicated procedure. Your nas must be joined in active directory to work for domain user. All computers that have already joined the domain will be listed here and with permissions granted they can access the list of domain resources such as the domain users and groups the computer accounts are created automatically after the computers or nas joins the domain and administrators can manually create or delete computer accounts.

Can i in the chown group field use the domain group format to specify a group to have permissions to the final file. This is not officially supported by qnap but it seems to be working. Access the server manager console.
